Light at Night

Near the heater I sat one night.

Lonesomely, I turned off the light.

Fire was raging inside its heart,

Seething with it what made me smart.

Snarly flames were engagin' in fight

bewildering mind by wrong and right.

The hurrying day darkened my sight,

too overwhelming to keep one's might.

Gazing into the heater I sighed with quiet –

its inmost rays turned dim to bright

whispering to me "follow your insight"
