List 2007 p4 ******************** The Unique Necklace By Ibn `Abd Rabbih D. 940 C.E.
It is one of the classics of Arabic literature. Collected in several volumes by an Andalusian scholar, it gives huge information about Arab culture and life during the four centuries before his death. He divides the book to chapters, each chapter carries the name of Jewel, I have finished the first volume, which contains three jewels: The pearl about governing The solitaire about wars The aquamarine about generosities and chains At first I found it difficult and the culture didn't appeal to me that much, then I get used to, rather liked it; I started imagining myself talking to this Caliph or that poet. I am looking forward to finish its six volumes in the future.
******************** Herman Hesse's Autobiography
By
Herman Hesse
It is an autobiographical articles by Herman Hesse; my favorite novelist, written in different ages of him. It is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. Hesse never disappointed me. His writings reflected his way of life and Sufi vision. I like this man, I like this wise profound poetic solitary ascetic soul his shape held once. He reaches the farthest unreachable point of my mind, caressing those meanings I am not able to put in words. I was drunk by his talk about himself; as if his were mine, exactly. May you be blessed in your grave dear Hesse!
